FIA's Consideration of Rule Improvements in Racing
FIA boss is mulling changes to rules for misconduct, including swearing, in racing.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem stated on Monday that he is contemplating 'improvements' to the regulations that impose severe penalties for misbehavior, such as swearing, in Formula 1 and other series. Competitors in rallying and F1 have had conflicts with Ben Sulayem, who is up for re-election at the year's end. World championship rally drivers reached a compromise last week. Further details are expected this week.
Max Verstappen has opposed F1's swearing rules. Appendix B, amended in January with stricter penalties, is a crucial part of the International Sporting Code. Stewards have the discretion to tailor penalties based on circumstances.
Estonian rally driver Ott Tanak reported positive progress with the FIA.
