Eddie Hearn Urges Tyson Fury: End the Speculation and Face Anthony Joshua in the Ring
Promoter Eddie Hearn calls on Tyson Fury to clarify his intentions and potentially set up a historic bout with Anthony Joshua.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has publicly appealed to Tyson Fury to end the ongoing speculation surrounding his potential return to boxing for a heavyweight clash against Anthony Joshua. Fury, a former heavyweight champion, has been teasing fans on social media with hints of a comeback, sparking widespread anticipation for what could be one of the most significant fights in boxing history.
Despite Fury's retirement announcement in January, his recent social media activity, including posts of him training with boxing wraps, has reignited hopes among fans and stakeholders. Hearn, who promotes Joshua, expressed his frustration and eagerness for clarity during an interview with Sky Sports:
"I feel like Tyson Fury's a bit of a tease really, isn't he? I mean, all we see on Instagram is him," Hearn said. "Even today, I've come out of the press conference, went on Instagram, [Fury is] there with his wraps on doing 12 rounds of boxing. Why are you doing this to us? What are you doing? Just let us know either way. Put us out of our misery."
Hearn emphasized that the fight could be arranged swiftly, stating that it would only take "one phone call" to finalize the details. However, he acknowledged that Fury's willingness to return to the ring is the decisive factor.
"We're reliant upon Tyson Fury. We're ready to go, but obviously he's got to be comfortable. He's got to be up for it," Hearn added. "He's a competitive so-and-so, and I just know in his mind, he'll want to dance with Anthony Joshua. So, dust those shoes off and let's make it happen."
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua is recovering from elbow surgery and is expected to return to the ring by the end of the year, regardless of whether the Fury fight materializes. Promoter Frank Warren, who represents Fury, has also expressed his desire to see the bout but stated he would not pressure Fury into returning.
The potential Fury vs. Joshua fight has been a topic of discussion for years, with fans and analysts alike dubbing it as one of the most anticipated matchups in boxing history. As the speculation continues, Hearn's plea underscores the urgency for Fury to make a definitive decision and potentially deliver a fight that could define a generation of heavyweight boxing.
