AFC Playoff Projections

The Kansas City Chiefs' recent loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a Week 2 Super Bowl rematch has impacted their standing in the playoff race. According to ESPN Analytics, the Chiefs are no longer projected to win the AFC West, marking the first time since 2015 they might not clinch the division title. Instead, the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are leading the division race.

The Indianapolis Colts have had a dream start to the season, securing a 2-0 record with a win over the Broncos. Their strong defense has propelled them to the fourth-best playoff chances in the AFC. Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals, despite Joe Burrow's injury, still hold the fifth position in the AFC playoff odds.

NFC Playoff Projections

The Green Bay Packers have taken the top spot in the NFC projections after a dominant win over the Washington Commanders. The Commanders, however, are struggling with less than a 50% chance to make the playoffs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles complete the top three in the NFC, while the San Francisco 49ers have moved ahead of the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West race.

The New York Giants remain at the bottom of the playoff race, despite a strong performance from Russell Wilson in an overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys. They might be in contention for the top overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
