Steve Kerr Criticizes Warriors' Performance as Winning Streak Ends Against Nuggets
Steve Kerr labels the Golden State Warriors' performance as 'awful' after their seven-game winning streak ends against the Denver Nuggets.

Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, did not mince words after his team's seven-game winning streak came to an abrupt halt against the Denver Nuggets. Kerr described the Warriors' performance as "awful" following their 105-114 loss in San Francisco.
Aaron Gordon was the standout player for the Nuggets, scoring a season-high 38 points. This marked Gordon's highest points tally since he joined the Nuggets from the Orlando Magic in 2021. Despite being without their star center Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets managed to secure a crucial victory.
"We played poorly out of the gate and never found rhythm, and they played great," Kerr said. "The right team won. We didn't deserve anything. We were awful."
On the Warriors' side, Stephen Curry contributed 20 points, while Jimmy Butler III added 23 points. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the Nuggets' dominance. This loss marked only the second defeat for the Warriors in their last 14 matches.
In other NBA action, the Los Angeles Lakers, still missing the injured LeBron James, secured a 125-109 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 30 points, while Luka Doncic added 21 points, nine rebounds, and 14 assists.
The Houston Rockets staged an impressive comeback, overturning a 25-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 144-137 in overtime. This victory keeps the Rockets in second place in the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves also needed overtime to edge out the Indiana Pacers 132-130. Obi Toppin was the star for the Timberwolves, scoring 34 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out two assists.
In the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks maintained their third-place position with a 116-95 win over the Miami Heat. The Detroit Pistons also secured a significant victory, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 127-81.
As the NBA season progresses, teams are jockeying for position in the playoff race, with every game becoming increasingly critical.
