Jamie Vardy, the captain of Leicester City, has openly expressed his disappointment and embarrassment over the club's recent relegation from the Premier League. "No words can express my feelings of anger and sadness with the way this season has gone. There are no excuses," Vardy shared on social media. He acknowledged the stark contrast between the club's past successes and the current season's failures, describing it as "miserable" and a "total embarrassment."

Vardy, who has been with Leicester City since 2012 and was instrumental in their Premier League title win in 2015-16, apologized to the fans for the team's poor performance. Despite his efforts, including scoring seven goals this season, Leicester City ended up 19th in the Premier League table with only 18 points from 33 games.
