Experience the excitement as State Man outperforms Constitution Hill at the Punchestown Festival, marking a significant victory in the Champion Hurdle.

In an electrifying display of horse racing, State Man claimed victory in the Champion Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival, leaving Constitution Hill trailing in fifth place. This event underscored State Man's resilience and prowess, especially notable after both horses experienced falls in previous races at Cheltenham and Aintree.
Constitution Hill entered the race as the favourite at 8-13, anticipated to return to its winning ways. However, it was State Man who excelled, with jockey Paul Townend steering to a triumphant finish on home ground. This victory marks State Man's third Champion Hurdle win at the festival, further cementing its status under the training of Willie Mullins.
"It's the performance we always thought he had in him," Mullins commented on RTE, praising State Man's consistent and superior racing capabilities. He also acknowledged the challenges faced by Constitution Hill, which may have influenced its performance.
The festival also saw other notable races with Fountain House winning the Hunters' Chase, and Its On The Line taking the title in the Champion Hunters' Chase. Other winners included Sea Music in the Novice Handicap Chase, and Casheldale Lad trained by Gordon Elliott in the Novice Hurdle.
As the festival concluded, all eyes look forward to the final day, promising more thrilling races and exceptional displays of horse racing talent.
