In a heart-stopping finish at the 150th Preakness Stakes held at Pimlico, Journalism demonstrated exceptional resilience and speed to clinch victory. Ridden by the skilled jockey Umberto Rispoli, Journalism overcame a significant bump and surged ahead in the final furlong, making up five lengths to secure the win. This victory marks a significant achievement in the middle leg of the prestigious US Triple Crown.

Journalism, trained by Michael McCarthy, had previously finished second in the Kentucky Derby, narrowly missing out to Sovereignty. However, at the Preakness, Journalism turned the tables, outpacing Gosger and Sandman who finished second and third respectively.

The race was not without its challenges. Journalism found itself in a tight spot, sandwiched between Goal Oriented and Clever Again near the rails. Despite this, Rispoli managed to navigate through the chaos, showcasing both his and the horse's determination.

Rispoli commented on the race, saying, "I don't know if people realize what this horse did today. I got in trouble at the quarter pole and he made himself go again. I was in a tough spot but it's unbelievable."

McCarthy also praised Journalism's performance, stating, "There was a lot of bouncing around there. I guess when I saw that I kind of resigned myself to the fact it was another fantastic effort and we'd maybe come up a little bit short, but it's testament to this horse. I couldn't be prouder of him."

Other notable performances included Heart Of Honor, ridden by British jockey Saffie Osborne, who finished fifth. The Preakness Stakes, known for its rowdy and vibrant atmosphere, once again lived up to its reputation as one of the most exciting events in US horse racing.
