Leinster Triumphs in URC Final: Conan Reflects on Victory and Silencing Critics
Leinster's captain Jack Conan discusses their URC final victory over Bulls, emphasizing the team's resilience and silencing critics.

Leinster's recent victory in the United Rugby Championship (URC) final has been a significant milestone for the team, particularly for captain Jack Conan. The team secured a commanding 32-7 win against the Bulls at Croke Park, marking their first URC title since 2021 and their ninth overall.
Conan expressed both relief and joy following the match, highlighting the hard work and dedication of the team over the past few years. "Definitely feeling a bit of relief, just so delighted for everyone who has put in so much work the last few years," Conan told TG4. He also noted the importance of the victory in quieting some of the team's critics, "I'm glad we showed up and performed and were able to silence a few critics."
The victory was especially poignant as it was achieved in front of a live audience at the GAA headquarters, a stark contrast to their last triumph four years ago, which occurred behind closed doors due to Covid. "It's incredibly special and not something you dream of growing up or even in the last few years it's been a while since we played here," Conan added during the post-match press conference.
Leinster's strong defensive play was crucial in their win, particularly in the first half where they led 19-0. Conan praised the team's defensive efforts, "To hold them out at half-time, credit to the lads for putting their heads in where you wouldn't put a shovel, the mental lift that gave us was huge."
Looking ahead, Conan is set to join the British and Irish Lions for their summer tour of Australia, bringing his leadership and experience to the international stage. This victory not only cements Leinster's status in the rugby world but also sets a positive tone for Conan's upcoming international endeavors.
