Rangers Set for Double Signing: Aarons and Poku Set to Join the Squad
Rangers are nearing a double signing with Max Aarons and Kwame Poku set to join the squad, bolstering their lineup for the upcoming season.

Rangers are on the verge of securing a double signing as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. The club is reportedly closing in on a deal for Max Aarons, the 25-year-old right-back from Bournemouth, who is expected to join on loan. Alongside Aarons, Kwame Poku, the 23-year-old winger from Peterborough United, is also set to join Rangers once his contract expires.
Russell Martin, the new head coach at Rangers, is keen to retain Jack Butland, the 32-year-old goalkeeper, provided he proves his worth during the pre-season. Butland lost his starting position towards the end of last season, but Martin believes he still has a role to play at Ibrox.
In other transfer news, Jose Cifuentes, 26, is expected to return to Rangers following a loan spell at Aris Thessaloniki. Meanwhile, Everton and West Ham United are reportedly considering a move for Hamza Igamane, the 22-year-old Rangers striker.
Ryan Porteous, the 26-year-old Scotland centre-half, is exploring a permanent exit from Watford and could be heading to Major League Soccer this summer. However, he also has suitors in the Championship and Scotland.
In a surprising twist, Real Madrid were the first club approached by Andy Robertson's agent, but they declined the opportunity to make an approach to Liverpool for the 31-year-old Scotland captain. Atletico Madrid are also considering Lucas Digne as an alternative if they fail to secure Robertson.
Celtic are also active in the transfer market, with discussions progressing well for Hayato Inamura, the 23-year-old Albirex Niigata centre-back. Celtic are also considering a move for Andy Robertson, but only if he becomes available for free or at a nominal fee.
RB Leipzig have the finances to sign Nicolas Kuhn, the 25-year-old Celtic winger, despite missing out on the Champions League. Celtic remain confident of keeping Cameron Carter-Vickers, despite interest from Leeds United.
Pogon Szczecin have opened talks to sign Maik Nawrocki, the 23-year-old Celtic defender, while Heerenveen hope to sign Dylan Vente, the 26-year-old Hibernian striker.
Dundee United are in advanced talks to sign Yevhen Kucherenko, the 25-year-old Ukrainian goalkeeper, and are also targeting a central midfielder and another striker.
Finally, Jim Bett, a former Pittodrie player, has praised Dave Cormack, the Aberdeen chairman, for his backing in securing European group stage football for the club.
