Thierno Barry's Transfer to Everton: A Game-Changer for the Toffees

Everton is set to sign Villarreal striker Thierno Barry in a £27m deal, bolstering their attack ahead of the new season.

Everton are on the verge of securing a significant addition to their squad with the impending transfer of Villarreal striker Thierno Barry. The 22-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in Merseyside before finalizing a £27m move, marking Everton's most substantial deal of the summer so far.

Barry, who scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 38 games last season, has been a key player for Villarreal. His contributions helped the Spanish club finish fifth in La Liga, securing a spot in the Champions League. Despite having a £34.5m release clause in his contract, Everton have negotiated a lower fee for the talented forward.

The signing comes at a crucial time for Everton, who have seen key attacking players depart. Dominic Calvert-Lewin left at the end of his contract, and Armando Broja returned to Chelsea after his loan spell ended without a permanent deal being struck. Barry's arrival is expected to provide a much-needed boost to Everton's attacking options.

Born in Lyon, Barry began his career at French club Sochaux before moving to Beveren in the Belgian second division. He then spent a season with Basel in the Swiss Super League before joining Villarreal in August 2024 for approximately £13m. His journey through various leagues has honed his skills, making him a promising prospect for Everton.

This transfer is not just a significant move for Everton but also a pivotal moment in Barry's career as he steps into the highly competitive Premier League. Fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how he adapts and contributes to his new team's ambitions.
