Hearts Edge Closer to Kabore Signing as Squad Shake-Up Looms
Hearts are nearing the signing of Pierre Landry Kabore while preparing for potential departures, as the club aims to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.

Hearts are on the verge of securing the signature of Pierre Landry Kabore, a promising winger from Narva Trans and the Burkina Faso national team. Chief Executive Andrew McKinlay confirmed the club’s progress in finalizing the deal, while also hinting at potential exits as the squad undergoes a strategic reshuffle.
Summer Transfers and Squad Dynamics
This summer has already seen several new arrivals at Tynecastle, including Christian Borchgrevink, Claudio Braga, Stuart Findlay, Sabah Kerjota, Alexandros Kyziridis, and Oisin McEntee. Additionally, Elton Kabangu has made his move permanent following a successful loan spell. These signings have injected fresh energy into the team, with McKinlay praising their immediate impact.
"Some of the players we've brought in so far have hit the ground running," McKinlay said. "There’s real excitement around these players, and it’s clear we’re going to play in a different way."
Focus on Squad Balance
While the club is eager to add Kabore to its ranks, the focus has shifted to trimming the squad. McKinlay revealed that manager Derek McInnes has identified players who are surplus to requirements, and the club is working to move them on before the transfer window closes.
"Now that the manager has had a chance to assess the squad, there will unfortunately be some players who are just surplus to requirements," McKinlay explained. "We’ll hopefully move some players out before the end of the window."
On-Field Success
Hearts have enjoyed a strong start to the season, winning all four of their games in the Premier Sports Cup Group E and securing a spot in the last 16. The team is set to host Aberdeen in their Scottish Premiership opener on 4 August, with fans eagerly anticipating a competitive campaign.
Looking Ahead
McKinlay emphasized that the club remains active in the transfer market, monitoring potential targets while balancing the need to offload players. "Whether we bring any more in will depend partly on what goes out," he said. "But we’re always looking and monitoring."
With Kabore’s signing on the horizon and a revamped squad taking shape, Hearts are poised for an exciting season ahead.
