Orla Prendergast Shines as Ireland Secures ODI Series Sweep Against Zimbabwe
Orla Prendergast's unbeaten 67 leads Ireland to a comprehensive ODI series sweep against Zimbabwe at Stormont.

Orla Prendergast delivered a stellar performance, scoring an unbeaten 67, to help Ireland secure a two-game sweep in their one-day international series against Zimbabwe at Stormont. Following a 97-run victory at the Belfast venue on Saturday, as well as a 3-0 win in the T20 series earlier this month, the hosts clinched the second ODI by four wickets on Monday.
Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat but struggled early on, losing their first three wickets for just 38 runs. Alana Dalzell was instrumental in Ireland's strong start, bowling opener Kelis Ndlovu for a first-ball duck and then dismissing Loreen Tshuma for just four. Ava Canning further dented Zimbabwe's innings by trapping Chiedza Dhururu lbw.
Captain Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano provided some stability with a solid 56 from 92 balls, and Modester Mupachikwa contributed 45, helping Zimbabwe set a target of 178. However, Ireland's chase was steady, despite losing an early wicket when Sarah Forbes was caught for just three. Captain Gaby Lewis played a crucial role with 44 off 59 balls.
Mupachikwa stumped Amy Hunter for 14, but this brought Prendergast to the crease, who then dominated the innings with her 67, including seven boundaries. This marked her second consecutive half-century in the one-day format, guiding Ireland to victory in the 39th over.
Ireland will return to action next month in a three-game T20 series against Pakistan in Dublin.
