Carlos Alcaraz Triumphs Over Andrey Rublev in Thrilling Cincinnati Open Quarterfinal
Carlos Alcaraz secures a hard-fought victory against Andrey Rublev, advancing to the Cincinnati Open semi-finals with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

In a gripping quarterfinal match at the Cincinnati Open, world number two Carlos Alcaraz emerged victorious against Andrey Rublev with a scoreline of 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. The match, lasting 2 hours and 17 minutes, showcased the resilience and skill of both players.
Alcaraz started strong, taking the first set with precision and control. However, Rublev, ranked 11th in the world, fought back fiercely in the second set, leveling the match and setting the stage for a dramatic third set.
In the decisive third set, Rublev's performance wavered under pressure, committing two double faults, including one on match point. Alcaraz, maintaining his composure, capitalized on these errors to secure the win.
"I maintained positive thoughts all the time, even though I lost focus a few times during the second set," Alcaraz commented after the match. "Playing someone like Andrey, when you lose focus on two or three points, it can cost you the set or almost the match. I just stayed strong mentally and that's what I'm most proud of."
This victory marks Alcaraz's second appearance in the Cincinnati Open semi-finals and his 12th ATP 1000 semi-final overall. He now awaits the winner of the match between Ben Shelton and Alexander Zverev, who will compete for a spot in the final.
In the other semi-final, Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner will face Terence Atmane, promising another exciting clash in this prestigious tournament.
