Oscar Piastri Honored with Dedicated Grandstand at 2026 Australian Grand Prix
Oscar Piastri, a rising star in Formula 1, will have his own grandstand at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, celebrating his remarkable achievements in the sport.

Melbourne-born Oscar Piastri is set to receive a unique honor at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, as a grandstand will be dedicated to him at the Albert Park circuit. This recognition comes as Piastri continues to dominate the 2025 Formula 1 season, leading the drivers' championship by nine points over his McLaren teammate, Lando Norris, with ten races remaining.
Piastri, who has already secured six grand prix victories this season, has surpassed the achievements of any other Australian driver since the inception of the world championship in 1950. Reflecting on this milestone, Piastri shared his excitement on X, stating, "It feels very surreal and I never thought this would happen, but the support is incredible and I can't wait to see it all come together next March."
The grandstand, strategically located on the main straight opposite the pit lane, will offer fans an unparalleled view of the action. Piastri expressed his anticipation, saying, "Seeing all the fans in my own grandstand directly opposite the McLaren garage is going to be an amazing experience and I'm really looking forward to feeling the energy and the atmosphere."
The 2026 Australian Grand Prix, scheduled from 6-8 March, will mark the season opener, adding to the significance of this event. Despite his impressive career tally of eight victories, Piastri has yet to secure a podium finish in his home race, making this upcoming event even more poignant.
Piastri joins an elite group of drivers with dedicated grandstands, including Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone, and Max Verstappen across various European circuits. Other Australian legends like Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Daniel Ricciardo, and Mark Webber have also been honored with grandstands at Albert Park.
As the Formula 1 season progresses, all eyes will be on Piastri as he aims to continue his stellar performance and make history in his home country.
