Ryan Campbell Extends Stay with Durham: A New Era of Cricket Excellence
Ryan Campbell extends his contract with Durham Cricket, aiming to elevate the team's performance in the County Championship and T20 Blast.

Durham head coach Ryan Campbell has committed to a two-year contract extension, securing his leadership with the county until the end of the 2027 season. The 53-year-old Australian, who previously coached the Netherlands, has been instrumental in Durham's recent successes.
Recent Achievements
Under Campbell's guidance, Durham clinched the County Championship Division Two title in 2023 and secured a commendable fifth place in their first season back in Division One last year. Additionally, the team has made it to the T20 Blast quarter-finals for the first time since 2009, where they will face Hampshire Hawks.
Campbell's Vision
Campbell expressed his enthusiasm for the future, stating, "When I came to the club, we had a lot of work to do and we've achieved some good stuff but I think there's so much more to do." He highlighted the strong community spirit at Durham, drawing parallels to his experiences in Western Australia.
Upcoming Challenges
With three games remaining in the County Championship, Durham currently sits ninth in Division One. Despite a challenging season, Campbell remains optimistic. "We're going to fight really hard in September," he said. "We're playing against three teams that are around us. I'm really excited for the last month and I have no doubt we can not only survive but win all three games."
Family and Future
Campbell's family has also embraced life in Durham, which played a significant role in his decision to extend his contract. "My kids and wife love it here and they're big factors on any decision I make," he shared. "This is home now, and I could see myself being here for a long time."
