Deion Sanders Joins Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Training Camp: A Legend’s Presence and Family Ties
Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders attends the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' training camp to support his son Shilo, while engaging with coach Todd Bowles and team staff.

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' first training camp practice of the 2025 season was graced by the presence of NFL legend and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion "Prime Time" Sanders. Sanders was there to support his son, safety Shilo Sanders, who recently signed as an undrafted free agent with the Buccaneers.
Before the practice began, Sanders was seen engaging in a conversation with Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles on the field. Later, he sat in the stands with Duke Preston, the team's head of player engagement, during the closed session.
"It's a normal day for me," Bowles remarked. "As far as I'm concerned, it's a father coming to see his son like all of us would be doing." Bowles, who also has two sons playing football, understands the challenges of balancing coaching duties with family commitments.
Sanders' presence was a highlight for the team, especially for veteran defensive captain Lavonte David, who had a memorable encounter with the Hall of Famer. "I got to shake his hand," David shared. "It just so happened that I was wearing his cleats today in practice. He was like, 'If you need anything, man, just let Shilo know.'"
The excitement of having Sanders at the camp was palpable, as he is not only a revered figure in football but also a father supporting his son’s journey in the NFL. Sanders' youngest son, Shedeur, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns earlier this year, adding another layer to the family’s NFL legacy.
Deion Sanders Jr. was also in attendance, making it a full family affair at the Buccaneers' training camp. The Sanders family’s involvement underscores the deep connections and support systems that are integral to the NFL community.
