Tampa Bay Rays Boost Pitching Rotation with Adrian Houser Trade from White Sox
The Tampa Bay Rays have strengthened their pitching lineup by acquiring Adrian Houser from the White Sox, adding depth and experience to their roster.

The Tampa Bay Rays have made a strategic move to enhance their pitching rotation by acquiring right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser from the Chicago White Sox. This trade, confirmed by a source to ESPN's Jeff Passan, comes as Houser has been delivering standout performances this season.
Houser, 32, began the 2025 season with the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate, where he struggled with a 5.03 ERA in 39 1/3 innings before being released. However, his fortunes turned when the White Sox picked him up and inserted him into their starting rotation. Since then, Houser has been a revelation, posting an impressive 2.10 ERA in 11 starts, with nine of those starts qualifying as quality starts.
For the season, Houser boasts a 6-2 record with 47 strikeouts and 22 walks in 68 2/3 innings pitched. His career stats include a 38-41 record with one save, a 4.00 ERA, and 531 strikeouts in 164 regular-season games (115 starts) over nine MLB seasons with the White Sox, Brewers, and Mets.
This acquisition is expected to provide the Rays with a reliable arm in their rotation as they push for a strong finish to the season. Houser's recent form and experience make him a valuable addition to the team, offering both stability and the potential for high-impact performances.
