KeyBank Center Secures Decade-Long Naming Rights Deal with Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres and KeyBank Center announce a 10-year naming rights extension, solidifying their partnership until 2035-36.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Sabres and KeyBank have officially extended their arena naming rights agreement for another decade, ensuring that the Sabres' home will continue to be known as the KeyBank Center through the 2035-36 season. This landmark deal underscores the strong partnership between the NHL franchise and the Cleveland-based bank, which has a significant regional presence in Buffalo.
Renovations and Upgrades Since its opening in 1996, the KeyBank Center has undergone several much-needed renovations. Last year, the Sabres replaced the arena's roof and installed a state-of-the-art video scoreboard over center ice. Future upgrades are expected to focus on enhancing seating arrangements and improving fan amenities, ensuring a superior game-day experience for attendees.
Expanding Event Horizons Under the leadership of Chief Operating Officer Pete Guelli, the Sabres have prioritized diversifying the arena's event calendar. In addition to hosting Sabres games, the KeyBank Center is home to the three-time defending National Lacrosse League champion Bandits. The arena is set to welcome Paul McCartney for one of his 20 North American tour stops this November, along with a pre-Olympic U.S. vs. Canada women's hockey Rivalry Series game.
On-Ice Challenges Despite these off-ice successes, the Sabres continue to face challenges on the ice. The team is currently enduring an NHL-record 14-season playoff drought, a streak they are eager to break in the coming seasons. The extended partnership with KeyBank provides a stable foundation as the Sabres strive to rebuild and return to playoff contention.
