Corsie and Nobbs Depart Aston Villa: A Look Back at Their Stellar Careers
Rachel Corsie and Jordan Nobbs, among others, are leaving Aston Villa. Explore their careers and the impact of their departure on the team.

Scotland international Rachel Corsie and England's Jordan Nobbs are among the four players set to leave Aston Villa at the end of the season. Danielle Turner and Maz Pacheco will also depart when their contracts expire in June.
Rachel Corsie, the 35-year-old defender, joined the Women's Super League side from Kansas City Current in 2022 and has made 56 appearances in all competitions. Her professional career spans Scotland, England, America, and Australia, where she has won 17 trophies. Despite her impressive track record, injuries have limited her to just one appearance this season, off the bench against Arsenal on 30 April. Corsie underwent knee surgery in October, which was expected to sideline her for eight weeks, but she has faced repeated setbacks due to calf and hip problems.
On the BBC's Behind the Goals podcast, Corsie revealed that during her injury layoff, she questioned if she'd "ever run again." However, the "biggest factor" driving her recovery was the possibility of returning to international duty with Scotland. Despite her limited playing time, she hopes to be named in the squad for Scotland's upcoming Women's Nations League matches against Austria (30 May) and Netherlands (3 June).
Jordan Nobbs, the midfielder, has scored seven goals in 67 appearances for Villa since joining in 2023 after 12 years with Arsenal. This season, she broke the Women's Super League appearance record. Maz Pacheco, the full-back, is Villa's longest-serving player with 90 appearances, while Danielle Turner has played 71 times since joining from Everton in 2022.
Aston Villa expressed their gratitude, stating they "would like to thank Rachel, Jordan, Dan, and Maz for their service to the club and wish them all the best in their future careers."
