England Rugby Pre-Tour Camp: Bracken and Porter Shine in Squad Selection

England Rugby names Charlie Bracken and Will Porter in their pre-tour training camp squad, as they prepare for summer matches against Argentina and the USA.

Rugby Training Camp

England Rugby has announced its training squad for a four-day pre-tour camp at Pennyhill Park, with scrum-halves Charlie Bracken and Will Porter receiving their first senior call-ups.

Rising Stars

Charlie Bracken, the son of 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Kyran Bracken, has been included in the senior squad for the first time. The 21-year-old Saracens player has previously represented England Under-20s and spent part of this season on loan at Championship side Ampthill. Despite not yet making a Premiership start, Bracken has shown promise as a back-up to South African Ivan van Zyl.

Will Porter, 26, has been rewarded for his impressive form with England A. The Harlequins scrum-half now has the opportunity to work with the senior squad, especially with several key players unavailable due to commitments with the British and Irish Lions, Premiership final preparations, and injuries.

Squad Dynamics

Northampton full-back George Furbank will continue his rehabilitation from concussion during the camp. Furbank's season has been plagued by injuries, including a fractured arm in December that caused him to miss the 2025 Six Nations.

Tom Lockett, a 22-year-old second row from Northampton, has also been included. Lockett has played alongside Bracken at age-grade level and with Porter during the second-string's victory over Ireland in February.

Rehabilitation and Recovery

Exeter wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, who has been sidelined since December with a shoulder dislocation, will use the camp to regain match fitness. His return could provide a significant boost to England's backline options.

Upcoming Matches

England will face a France XV in a non-cap match at Twickenham's Allianz Stadium on 21 June. This match will serve as a crucial warm-up before the final touring party is named for the summer's two-Test tour of Argentina and a one-off match against the United States in Washington.
