Darcey Harry Triumphs at Hulencourt Women's Open: A Rookie's Dream Come True

Welsh rookie Darcey Harry clinches her first Ladies European Tour title at the Hulencourt Women's Open with a stunning performance.

In an exhilarating final round at the Hulencourt Women's Open, Darcey Harry, a 22-year-old Welsh rookie, secured her maiden Ladies European Tour title. Harry's impressive final round of 68 included five birdies and a remarkable eagle on the par-five 13th hole, propelling her to a three-shot victory over France's Nastasia Nadaud and New Zealand's Amelia Garvey.

Having turned professional just last year, Harry earned her spot on the tour through December's qualifying rounds. Her victory not only marks a significant milestone in her career but also secures her a place in the prestigious AIG Women's Open, where she will compete on her home course, Royal Porthcawl.

"I don't even know what to say right now," Harry expressed after her win. "I'm so excited. I didn't think I'd ever picture myself winning on the tour, so it's so nice to know I've finally done it. The last putt was probably the most nervous I've ever been in my life."

India's Avani Prashanth, who led at the start of the final day, fell away with a round of 75. Ireland's Lauren Walsh finished tied for fifth place on seven-under, while England's Cara Gainer ended tied seventh on six-under par.

This victory is a testament to Harry's talent and determination, marking her as a rising star in the world of women's golf.
