Exclusive Live Broadcasts of Bottom-Six Scottish Premiership Matches Starting Next Season
Starting next season, fans can enjoy live broadcasts of two bottom-six Scottish Premiership matches, thanks to a new agreement between SPFL and broadcasters.

In a significant update for football enthusiasts, the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has announced that two bottom-six matches will be broadcast live starting next season. This change comes after discussions with broadcast partners Sky Sports and Premier Sports.
Sky Sports currently holds the rights to broadcast 60 live top-flight games each season in Scotland, while Premier Sports has secured a five-year deal to show 20 live matches. Previously, Premier Sports was restricted from showing any matches post-game 33, when the league splits into top and bottom halves.
However, the new agreement allows Premier Sports to screen two live matches from the bottom half of the table, addressing long-standing criticism from fans and pundits about the lack of coverage for these crucial games.
SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster expressed his enthusiasm for the change, stating, "We know supporters have been keen to tune into the most exciting games in the bottom six as clubs battle to avoid relegation. We've been discussing this situation with our broadcast partners over recent months, and we're delighted to have reached this agreement."
This update is expected to enhance the viewing experience for fans, providing them with more opportunities to follow their favorite teams during the critical stages of the season.
