Discover the unique atmosphere of Wimbledon 2025, where thousands of tennis enthusiasts queue for a chance to witness the world's most prestigious tennis tournament.

The Wimbledon Championships 2025 kicked off with a spectacular display of tradition and community spirit. As the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, Wimbledon continues to captivate tennis fans worldwide with its unique blend of history, prestige, and unparalleled excitement.
The Iconic Wimbledon Queue
One of the most celebrated traditions of Wimbledon is the queue that forms outside the All England Club. This year, over 10,000 eager fans lined up, some arriving as early as noon on Friday, to secure their spot for the opening day. Despite the long waits and soaring temperatures, the atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and anticipation.
Vicki Broad from Neath, Wales, who was first in line with her husband Nigel, described the experience as "like being in a parallel universe." She added, "We've met people from all over the world, just chatting away and getting to know people. It's a community of people, all with a common goal."
A Global Gathering of Tennis Enthusiasts
Fans from across the globe traveled to SW19 to be part of this iconic event. Linda Jacobs flew in from Houston, Texas, to secure her spot in the queue. "If you're going to fly that far, you want to make sure you get a really wonderful ticket!" she exclaimed. "This is, like, the most genteel festival you can ever come to. It makes you love England."
Jorge, visiting with friends from Madrid, shared his motivation for queuing: "We were here last year to watch Carlos [Alcaraz] in the first round, and our motivation for queuing was to see him play on Centre Court on the opening day. It's an incredible experience, very unique."
The Carota Boys: Tennis Superfans
Among the dedicated fans are the Carota Boys, a group of childhood friends from Turin, Italy, who have become famous for their unwavering support of Jannik Sinner. Dressed as carrots, they have attended Sinner's matches worldwide, even playing tennis with him once. "It started as just a joke between us as friends, and we never thought it could become something this big," said Alessandro. "Now we are really famous in the tennis world."
