British diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix announces her withdrawal from the 2025 World Aquatics Championships due to mental health struggles.

Great Britain's diving star, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the upcoming 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. The athlete cited ongoing mental health challenges as the primary reason for her absence.
Spendolini-Sirieix, who clinched a bronze medal in the synchronised 10m platform at the 2024 Paris Olympics, shared her struggles in a heartfelt social media post. She expressed her battle with 'mental blocks' in diving this season, which ultimately led her to prioritize her mental well-being over competition.
'I've had a tough battle with mental blocks in diving this season, and I've tried to fight through them, but I've decided it would be best for me to take a break from the pool,' Spendolini-Sirieix stated. She emphasized the importance of rest and support from her family, coach, and the team at Aquatics GB.
The World Aquatics Championships are set to take place from July 11 to August 3 in Singapore. While Spendolini-Sirieix will not be competing, she remains supportive of her teammates and international friends, wishing them success in the championships.
This decision highlights the growing awareness and importance of mental health in sports, demonstrating that even elite athletes need to take time to focus on their well-being.
