Nottingham Forest Secures Versatile Juventus Defender Nicolo Savona in a Major Transfer Deal
Nottingham Forest strengthens their defense with the signing of versatile Juventus defender Nicolo Savona on a five-year deal worth up to £13.4m.

Nottingham Forest have made a significant addition to their squad by signing Nicolo Savona from Juventus on a five-year deal worth up to £13.4m (15.5m euros). The 22-year-old defender, who has been with Juventus since he was eight, joins Forest for an initial fee of £11.2m (13m euros) with potential add-ons of £2.2m (2.5m euros).
Savona, who primarily operates as a right-back, is known for his versatility, also capable of playing in central defense and as a left-back. He made his senior debut last season and played 40 games across Serie A, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup. His impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Italy squad, although he did not make an appearance.
"I am very excited to be here. It is a new experience for me as a person and a player. It is such a historic club, and the move is a dream come true," said Savona upon his arrival.
Ross Wilson, Forest's Chief Football Officer, praised Savona as a "versatile player who will be another strong option in our defensive unit" and someone who "understands the demands of playing for a big club."
This signing is part of Forest's ambitious summer transfer strategy, which includes the acquisition of Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich for £37.5m, James McAtee from Manchester City for close to £30m, Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes for an initial fee of £26m, and Dan Ndoye from Bologna for £35m. Additionally, Forest have secured Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha from Botafogo, as well as Douglas Luiz and Angus Gunn from Norwich.
Forest's return to European competition after 30 years will see them participate in the Europa League this season, marking a new chapter in the club's history.
