Michael Dunlop Dominates Supertwins Double at 2025 Isle of Man TT
Michael Dunlop secures his fourth victory at the 2025 Isle of Man TT, dominating the Supertwins double and setting a new lap record.

Michael Dunlop continued his reign at the 2025 Isle of Man TT by clinching his fourth victory in the Supertwins TT. The Paton rider, who had already dominated the opening Supertwin race earlier in the week, secured a commanding win in the second race, finishing 26.774 seconds ahead of Davey Todd. This victory not only marked Dunlop’s 33rd win at the iconic road race but also saw him set a new lap record of 123.056mph on the 37.7-mile Mountain Course.
A Thrilling Podium Battle
Behind the leading duo, Dominic Herbertson secured a well-deserved podium finish after a nail-biting battle with Paul Jordan, edging him out by just 3.141 seconds. Herbertson, who had previously claimed his first TT podium in 2024, was emotional after the race, expressing his gratitude to friends and even strangers who helped him make it to the event after his original plans fell through.
Dunlop’s Dominance
Dunlop’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. He maintained a steady lead throughout the race, despite losing six seconds to Todd during the pit stops. By the end of the second lap, Dunlop had extended his lead to 14.5 seconds, showcasing his unmatched skill and consistency. His sector record from Glen Helen to Ballaugh Bridge further cemented his dominance.
The Contenders
Davey Todd, who finished second, secured his fifth podium of the TT, while Paul Jordan’s late surge into podium contention fell just short. The battle for third place was equally intense, with Mike Browne, Adam McLean, and Barry Furber all within striking distance.
Dunlop’s Legacy
With this victory, Dunlop not only completed a Supertwin and Supersport double but also solidified his status as one of the greatest riders in TT history. His focus now shifts to the Senior TT, where he will face stiff competition from Todd and Superstock TT winner Dean Harrison.
