Victoria Mboko's incredible comeback victory sets the stage for an exciting final against Naomi Osaka at the Canadian Open.

In a dramatic turn of events at the Canadian Open, 18-year-old Victoria Mboko has secured her place in the final after a stunning comeback against former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. The young Canadian, ranked 85th in the world, overcame a first-set loss and saved a match point in the second set to clinch a 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) victory in Montreal.
Mboko, who entered the tournament as a wildcard, will now face former world number one Naomi Osaka in her first WTA 1000 final. Reflecting on her performance, Mboko said, "I had everyone supporting me and pushing me through. Without you guys, I don't think I would've been able to pull this through."
This remarkable journey to the final has seen Mboko defeat top players like Coco Gauff and Sofia Kenin. Starting the year ranked 333rd in the world, she opened the season with an impressive 22-match winning streak. Osaka, on the other hand, secured her place in the final with a 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) win against Danish 16th seed Clara Tauson.
In the men's tournament in Toronto, Russian 11th seed Karen Khachanov stunned three-time Grand Slam runner-up Alexander Zverev with a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) victory. Khachanov will face America's Ben Shelton in the final after Shelton's straight-sets win over compatriot Taylor Fritz.
This year's Canadian Open has been full of surprises, setting the stage for thrilling finals in both the men's and women's tournaments.
