Raducanu's Heartbreak in Korea Open: Missed Match Points Against Krejcikova
Emma Raducanu missed three match points in a thrilling Korea Open clash against Barbora Krejcikova, who fought back to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.

Emma Raducanu faced a heartbreaking defeat in the Korea Open as she missed three match points against former Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova. The match, which lasted two hours and 52 minutes, ended with a score of 4-6, 7-6 (12-10), 6-1 in favor of Krejcikova.
Raducanu, the British number one, had a strong start in the second set, leading 4-1 and serving for the match at 5-3. She even held a match point in that game, but Krejcikova managed to break back and force a tie-break. Raducanu initially dominated the tie-break, racing to a 5-2 lead and earning two match points on Krejcikova's serve. However, she couldn't capitalize, and Krejcikova held firm to force a decider.
In the deciding set, Krejcikova saved two break points in the third game before reeling off five successive games to secure her victory. The Czech player, currently ranked 39th in the world, will now face world number two Iga Swiatek of Poland in the quarter-finals.
Raducanu, who is currently 33rd in the world rankings, reached the quarter-finals in Seoul in 2024 and has no further ranking points to defend before the end of the year. She is hoping to climb into a position where she will be one of the 32 seeds for the Australian Open in January 2026.
Meanwhile, Sonay Kartal and Katie Boulter were guiding Britain to a comfortable quarter-final victory against Japan in Shenzhen, China, as Raducanu battled it out in Seoul.
